Recently, the Bollywood wedding that broke all the internet records was of Deepika and Ranveer’s. Bollywood’s favorite couple – #DeepVeer, got married at Villa del Balbianello at Lake Como in Italy at the end of 2018.
Even if a year has passed since the duo got married – their bridal attires are still searched widely on the internet. Both Deepika and Ranveer chose to wear Sabyasachi bridal outfits for most of their wedding functions – both pre and post the wedding celebration. Overall, it was a true Sabyasachi wedding.
The duo got married in both South Indian and Sindhi traditional ceremonies. For her Sindhi wedding, Deepika chose a traditional red lehenga that soon became an internet sensation and the favorite of upcoming brides.

The wedding lehenga was specially designed for her and defined her personal style statement and love for traditional roots.
The red gharara was breathtakingly beautiful with hand embroidered details all over the attire.
Apart from a bespoke red lehenga, her aari-tari dupatta also created headlines. What stood out in the design was the traditional blessing – Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava, embroidered on it in Devnagri script. Speculations are that her wedding lehenga was worth a whopping INR 8.95 Lakhs.
Well, the lehenga set a huge wedding trend. Many millennial brides copied the trend in their weddings. Many brides experimented a little with the look and created their own style. Some opted for the same lehenga look and donned double dupattas, while others opted for a single dupatta with silver jewelry.
The other highlighting details of Deepika’s wedding look were her engagement ring. She also wore 22 karat gold and uncut diamond jewelry including a statement bridal chuda, jadau jhumkas, maang tikka, a nose ring, and stunning golden kalire.
Ranveer’s look was also unique and superbly stylish. He wore a tailored red and gold brocade sherwani. The sherwani was layered with luxurious tourmaline necklaces and an emerald and diamond necklace. His wedding look was further accessorized with tissue red and golden safa.
For her Konkani wedding, Deepika wore a classic tissue saree along with traditional temple jewelry from the Sabyasachi Heritage jewelry collection.
Deepika’s wedding lehenga and look has inspired many brides and we see the trend continuing for 2020 also. By picking a red traditional lehenga she again proved the importance of heritage and culture of our country. Even her post-marriage looks included traditional banarasi saree which she wore on the reception.
