1 Paithani Delights:
The famous Paithani saree belongs to Maharashtra. The saree actually originates from a place near Aurangabad at a place called Yeola where this rare saree is woven into existence. These sarees require a lot of hard work, labor and skill. In order to make each piece worth being a part of your wardrobe a lot of hours, dedication and hard work goes into the saree. These sarees are known for their bright and contrast color scheme and are famous for their parrot, peacock and flower design. The magenta and peacock green and purples are usual color schemes that are used to enhance the beauty of the sari and make it look rare and unique in its own stature. The Pallu of the sari is known to have contrasting colors and the Pallu is adorned with heavy gold pattern that makes the saree look gorgeous. Paithani is a heavy saree that is woven with pure silk thread. The price range of this saree is known to be dependent on the color scheme and the use of patterns on the saree.
2 Chanderi:
These are another category of rare saree that Madhya Pradesh is famous for. The Chanderi Sarees are cotton based sarees that are made by using pure cotton or mixing silk and cotton. The designs on the saree are inspired from the motifs on the Chanderi temple and hence the saree gets its name from the temple. The patterns are unique and the fabric is light to wear and hence it’s a preferred saree for the Indian summers. Another sibling of this saree is the Maheshwari Saree. This saree is generally found in bright colors like green or purple and come with a solid and distinct Zari border to enhance the look of the saree. This region is also famous to make Tussar block printed saree. These sarees are basically block printed on silk Tussar fabric and generally on the expensive side. The cheaper version is the Balla tinsel and Khari work saree that has metallic embroidery and is distinct and famous.
3 Gadwal:
Gadwal saree is a distinct saree and cannot be confused with Garhwal saree. The sarees are influenced by the Benarasi saree designs. The sari is known to have self checks and borders and have Zari or Resham work on it. These sarees are available in both silk and cotton variety.
The work on the saree is done by dipping the thread in copper or gold. Loads of motifs are used to ornate the saree a few famous ones are peacock and Rudraksh.
